A VIEW FROM THE SWARM
"We're all here to fart around. Don't let anyone tell you any different!"- Kurt Vonnegut
It is (final meaning of existence) often expressed in various related questions: [5]
* What is the meaning of life? [4][6][7][8][9][10]
Accidents. Listening to the ‘drive’ inside. If this is ignoring, thwarted, blunted, bent around, or otherwise sublimated, then a host of other demons arise. As you are doing it…living through the river of ‘chi’ you could ask…as one paddling down rapids…what is the meaning of this from here…in the boat…the side of the shore…downstream, upstream. The ‘meanings’ on a normative value often become about prepositions…where we are in space in time. As we are living the danger of the whitewater ride are we thinking about a ‘point of view’ downstream looking at our bodies in a type of flow and danger (for the risk of taking the journey is one of the first impulses to accepting this chi). Are we ‘above it’? Do we hope that there is an entity outside of this stream that is looking down at us and making us feel that the risk is worth it simply because we are ‘watched’? The new feeds of the social media sites apply this same psychology: it is a flow through time of postings that you and your ‘friends’ make in the stream of time and ‘zero distance’. The accident of our parents making love that night and then putting us here thrust us completely into the old fashioned Taoist “chi”…the energy that helps us through our next…their next…time and space. Flow. The mysterious manifestations of flow that often seem to swallow will, and us eventually swallow us in it. The new social medias resemble that flow in time…. we can witness our lives as an archive and, often but not as often as it shows us where we have been, we can demonstrate will and intention.
But this could be wrong also…. to make totalizing decisions while you are ‘within it’ is difficult.
